HYDRO CONTRADICTS SELINGER’S SPIN ON EAST SIDE BIPOLE
FIPPA request dismisses NDP argument for west-side route to maintain export revenues
NDP spin as to why an east side BiPole route cannot be built has been proven false, says Progressive Conservative Leader Hugh McFadyen.
For more than two years – and as recently as December 2009 – Greg Selinger said, “They want to follow a narrow-minded straight-line approach down the east side of Lake Winnipeg, and when they do that, they want to put $20 billion of export revenues at risk.”
The PC Leader released a letter from Manitoba Hydro that contradicts Selinger and indicates the Crown Corporation sees no risk to its exports arising from an eastern BiPole route.
This is another argument the NDP have employed to defend their daffy west side detour that has been debunked.
The NDP has also claimed a west side line would preserve the environment and said that an east side line would preclude a UNESCO designation in that area. Both of those arguments have since been proven false.
“This is another example of the NDP misleading Manitobans on why they are wasting $640 million of Manitobans hard earned money,” McFadyen asked. “What else are the NDP hiding from Manitobans at our most valuable Crown Corporation?”
